Default UWSC questions

I have a couple questions because I am trying to get into UWSC for the ectos.

First, I've tried getting into a couple groups, and each time, the party leader wanted to trade with me to see something. I think they might want to see summoning stones.

Second, when a person is advertising UWSC 100+, what does the '100+' mean?

They mean Ghastly Summoning Stones. 100+ means 100+ of them.

P.S. Yes it's a stupid practice.

The answer to both questions is the same: Ghastly Summoning Stones. They drop from the UW end chest and people use them to gauge your experience. People who ask 100+ want you to show them that you have 100 summoning stones to prove that you're experienced (you can buy them from other players though, so it's not necessarily proof).

They want to see 100 (or more) Ghastly Summoning Stones. These only drop from the Underworld Chest which spawns on completion of UW. The implication is that if you have 100+ stones you've finished UWSC 100+ times.

Of course, the system isn't perfect because the stones can be traded. More than anything, the stones system is a way for those who run UWSC with their guilds (and don't need the stones for PUGs) to make even more money out of it as the stones sell at ~4k each.

EDIT: Wow, can you say ninja'd?

Well, that's precisely the point. In speed clears, people often have specific tasks to complete and if they fail, the whole team fails. Thus, no one wants to be in a group with someone inexperienced because it will waste their time and money. It's exactly the same with fame in HA.

The assumption that it is a bad thing is false. Because the people that buy alot of them and fail will usually be remembered and will most likely not go on a run with anyone that was in that group. Yes, I know the system is kind of pointless, but once you get up to that amount of runs, you have experienced 3-5 times the fails from others.

If you want to become more experienced, I suggested joining one of the ToA SC guilds. They are usually mediocre (did I spell that right?), but accepting newer players. As you gain in your amount of stones it becomes much easier and faster to get even more.

Basically, If you want to learn you have to join a guild, or make a couple of friends. Also it depends on the role you want. I wouldn't suggest T3 or EMo for starters just because those are the roles that you CANNOT fail in.

In short, wether a flawed system or not, wether a big plot to make money, it all boils down to fail or not. From my personal experience the higher the stone req, the greater chance of getting chest. 100+ or more usually always get chests. 50+ is about 40% chest. Practice runs or anything lower than 50+ (referred to as farm runs to elitist players :P) will get chest ~10% of the time. And that usually is because a couple of good players joined just to farm. (yes I have joined a practice run where everyone was 100+ including me, except for the leader) lol

Be mindful of te fact that anyone who can afford enough stones to get an experienced group, probably has an idea of what they're supposed to do. I know it's not always the case, but it's just a thought.

The system sucks ass. It started as a troll by a couple friends, and PuGs picked it up. I personally have earned more then 1500 stones, but I have like 5. I don't sell them, I just use them. I don't go on PuGs mostly because I cba to convince them that I know what I am doing.

You can PM me if you really want to start doing UW, I can put you in touch with a guild or two that would be happy to help you learn

i can understand why people do it. If you were new i wouldnt necessary want you in my group. If it was an understanded pratice run, yeah. But going PUGway you want the 'best' you can get. There is no meter or level to measure someone's skill before you enter UW so you cant really go by anything else. Obviously people buy most of the stones just to fit into the 100+ group, but paying for them shows something.

I dont doubt why people do this. Its the same with /rank in HA.

If you are 100% new to UWSC, please dont enter some normal pugway team without them understanding this. Everyone loves to help new players out, but not on what they expect to be an experienced run.

The best thing you can do is to just do these runs with your guildie friends. This is a lot better overall and its nice that you can sell the stones for 4k/ea at the end without having to save them so they collect dust in your invetory.

i would suggest u to go with friends or start a group yourself.
btw any role in UW can fail the run. emo can die at dhuum or get rupted,LT can die at any pull and fail escort for example,t3 and t4 are the ones that wont fail much b coz they're job is just popping the reaper but they can kill the reaper by forgetting to kill specific patrols and stuff, t2 can die at slayer or kill pools reaper,t1 can kill wastes reaper and any of the terras can die at 4h or fail center tank. so that leaves us with the rit and the SS
SS can accidently agro when LT is pulling and same thing for the rit and if the rit doesnt know how and when to spike it might cost a run
